Research

Guides are built from manufacturer specifications, published technical references and basic optics. Sources that support a specific claim are linked within the text.

No invented experience

Our guides do not describe tests, shoots or purchases that did not happen. Lens tables are research starting points, not ranked test results, and we say so in the guide. Any first-hand test added in future will be clearly identified as such.

Tools

Software tools, including AI writing assistants, may help with drafting and editing. The editor is responsible for what is published.

Independence

The site is not paid by lens makers to publish guides. Advertising does not decide what is covered. If a guide ever includes affiliate links, it will say so clearly.

Updates and corrections

Lens ranges change, so guides are reviewed and updated over time. To report an error, write to contact@gavebags.com. Confirmed errors are corrected.
